How Can I Get Started In C++ And Java Programming?

I would like to become a game programmer someday, but I'm kinda stuck at the moment.
Do you guys have any tips to begin learning the basics of C++ and Java? What should I do in order to become a BETTER programmer? Are there any beginners' programming books you would like to recommend?
Any sort of help is very much appreciated, thank you .

YouTube, look for step by step tutorials and you should be able to create basic programs within a few hours, if you want to do more than that you should get some books and read up.
